DIY Mum is a mum to two boys who started her Instagram account back in January 2021, as the UK was in the middle of another lockdown and the weather wasn’t so kind this time.
Whilst homeschooling her two boys, she decided that, to have a little escapism and keep herself sane (teaching was not for her), she needed a hobby. She has always been creative and practical and loved DIY (and needed a new dining room table), so this ended up being an easy decision.
That’s where it all started and exactly when DIY Mum was born. Once she had the DIY bug, there was no stopping her. She has learnt everything on the job, as they say, and has made plenty of mistakes along the way. But a broken thumb, a drill through her nail, and endless splinters haven’t stopped her.
If someone had told her back in 2021 that one day this would be her full-time job, she would have laughed it off—but here she is, three years down the line, making a living from being DIY Mum. She’s not laughing now, but she is having a lot of fun helping her community make the most of their homes and the furniture they already have.
