What is this?
Every two movies have a relationship that we call a 'public preference association'.
For some films, say Casablanca and Notorious, the PPA is quite high.
For others, say American Pie and Dumbo, the PPA is rather low.
By typing in the names of multiple movies, you do two things:
- You tell our computer which films have a strong association to each other
- and you tell the computer to find the ten movies that have the strongest associations to the ones you entered.
The number to the right of the movie's name is the PPA value.
A higher number indicates a stronger association.
This Web application is brand-new, and many associations have not been activated yet because no one has searched for those films.
As the service becomes used more often, the associations will strengthen and become more useful.
